Through the training and the money, Elizabeth started baking cookies. Besides, Elizabeth is part of other visually impaired women selling the same market. Elizabeth cannot beg in the streets again.

Her story is a testament to the power of hope and the importance of empowering women. Disability is not inability. Let’s empower more women with disabilities to become self-reliant.

Hannah Logan

Kindly meet Hannah Logan.

Hannah is a visually impaired woman who refuses to let her situation limit her ability.

She is a proud member of the Disabled Women Inclusive Saving and Loan Association, a transformative program under DEKAP Incorporated Liberia Women’s Economic Empowerment Pillar. Hannah was one of thirty-five women who bravely embarked on the two-year pilot program, and her journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

What makes Hannah even more remarkable is her role as one of the association’s trusted money counters. Her dedication proves that visual impairment is no barrier to financial literacy and responsibility. Hannah trades in call minutes, a vital service in her community. With a microphone in hand, she becomes a vibrant transfer service provider, skillfully rallying interest and attracting customers.

This seemingly small business is the cornerstone of her family’s livelihood. It is the source of their daily meals, pays their rent, and, importantly, provides support to her kids as a single mother.
