Disabled Mother’s Day 2026 – Honoring, Uplifting, and Empowering Mothers with Disabilities!
We are still inspired by the incredible energy at our recent Disabled Mothers’ Day Celebration!
This meaningful gathering was all about amplifying the voices of mothers with disabilities and vulnerable non-disabled mothers in our communities, reaffirming our commitment to dignity and inclusion.
Turning Advocacy into Action:
We don’t just speak about empowerment—we act on it.
As part of the program, two resilient mothers and one dedicated volunteer with physical disabilities received brand-new freezers to launch their own home-based sachet water businesses!
This initiative provides sustainable income, helping these families move away from street begging and toward true economic independence.

Appeal Call: One Freezer, One Woman No woman should risk her life and her child’s safety begging between moving vehicles just to survive. Street begging in traffic is dangerous, strips away dignity, and exposes children to harm instead of protection. Let’s replace survival on the streets with a safe, home-based cold water business.

Spotlight Initiative: Sourcing Support for Digital Mobile Entrepreneurship for Marginalized Women in Montserrado County
Dear Partners and Supporters,
We’re excited to share one of our newest grassroots initiatives under the Dekap Women Empowerment Pillar. This project aims to uplift some of Liberia’s most marginalized women—those living with disabilities and vulnerable non-disabled women—through digital mobile entrepreneurship.
The Challenge
In Montserrado County, women with disabilities and vulnerable women continue to face deep economic exclusion. Many have no access to digital tools, marketable skills, or inclusive financial services. These barriers trap them in poverty and leave their potential untapped.
Despite their resilience, most of these women are isolated from Liberia’s growing digital and mobile economy. For them, empowerment is not just about income—it’s about dignity, independence, and inclusion.
Our Vision
Through this initiative, we plan to reach and empower 40 marginalized women—25 women with disabilities and 15 vulnerable non-disabled women—by providing:
Interviews & Community Listening: Understanding their lived experiences, dreams, and barriers.
Digital & Entrepreneurial Training: Skills in mobile business, online marketing, mobile money, and financial management.
Linkage to Inclusive Savings: Connection to our Inclusive Savings and Loan Club for access to capital and financial literacy support.
Where We Are Now
We are currently in the planning and outreach phase of this initiative and are actively sourcing support from donors, partners, and allies who believe in grassroots, inclusive development.
Your support—financial, technical, or in-kind—can help us turn this vision into a life-changing reality for women who have been overlooked for too long.
The Potential Impact:
Digital and financial inclusion for marginalized women
Women-led income-generating ventures
Community empowerment and poverty reduction
Greater independence and leadership among women with disabilities
How You Can Help
We invite individuals, donors, and organizations to partner with us in any of the following ways:
Fund or co-sponsor the program
Donate smartphones or training materials
Volunteer your skills or mentor a participant
Help us spread the word
Let’s Build an Inclusive Future Together
At Dekap, we believe real change begins at the grassroots. Let’s ensure that every woman—regardless of disability or circumstance—has a chance to thrive in the digital economy.
17-year-old Chinda, born with a physical challenge, received successful leg-strengthening surgery—bringing her one step closer to a more independent and hopeful future.
Once marked by hardship, these children who have benefited from our School Child Sponsorship Program have transformed their stories through education and support. Garcedar who once struggled as a result of his father’s visual disability —today, is serving as an interm, mentors young people while seeking opportunity to go for higher Study. Victoria, a Visually disabled child of both visually disabled parents is also serving as interm —now a university graduate.
These graduates are more than success stories—they are beacons of hope, giving back to the very sponsors that lifted them. Their journey from struggle to school and into society is a testament to the power of compassion, opportunity, and resilience.
